- The World Health Organization (WHO) have recommended cleaning of hands with alcohol based handwash or with soap as washing the hands frequently and thoroughly help prevent the spread of viruses by killing them when the hands are washed properly. It is said that soap washed hands are free from these viruses.
- It has also advised to maintain social distancing of about 1 metre or 3 feet from people who are couching or sneezing. It is said that small liquid droplets that contain viruses are sprayed when a person coughs or sneezes. Social distancing will help prevent the spread of viruses into oneself.
- It has also recommended not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth as the hands touches many surfaces and may have touched viruses which may well enter into the body and may make one sick. Thus, it is a no no to use one’s hand to touch the eyes, nose and mouth.
- It has also asked people to practice good respiratory hygiene by using the bent elbow or tissues when couching or sneezing and then dispose the tissues after used. Viruses could be spread if good respiratory hygiene is not practiced and thus recommended everyone possible to help contain the virus by practicing such respiratory hygiene.
And WHO have also asked to seek medical help immediately if one is suffering from cough, fever, and running nose and follow the advice of the physician in toto.
