At least 78 persons were reportedly killed and 4000 were said to be still in the evacuation centres in 10 prefectures that include Tokyo as Typhoon Hagibis hit the island country since the first week of October.
It was reported that out of the 78 people that have died in 12 prefectures of Japan, 28 people were from Fukushima prefecture, the highest death toll- prefecture wise. Miyagi prefecture is also said to account for 16 people to the death toll and 14 people reportedly died at Kanagawa prefecture. Japan has, altogether, 47 prefectures.
Out of the 45000 houses damaged due to Typhoon Habibis, water due to floods is said to have risen up till the first floor of at least half of the houses that had reportedly been damaged. More than five lakh houses also suffered from power cut and 95000 houses reportedly didn’t have access to tap water due to the Typhoon Hagibis.
