Plant based diet such as fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre. Dark leafy vegetables, brown rice, beans, legumes and fruits that are rich in fibre such as bananas, oranges, strawberries and raspberries is said to be good for the heart and waistline.
It is also said that people who eats plant based food have lower body mass index and also aids in preventing heart diseases, lowers the risks of cancer and diabetes. Plant based food is said to boost the energy level and aids in digestion and nourishes the skin, hair and nails.
In addition, plant based diet has anti-ageing properties and many are anti-inflammatory and also promotes proper brain functioning. Thus, plant based food is not only healthier because it reduces the risk of cholesterol laden foods in high protein-high meat diets that may cause disorders of bone and calcium imbalance, liver disorders, increased risks of cancer and coronary artery disease.
